Meet the Black Hills Pediatrics, LLP Team

Black Hills Pediatrics, LLP provides pediatric care to patients ages 0-18 in Rapid City, SD. As a team of board-certified pediatricians and nurses, we take pride in caring for your children through every step of their formative years. Whether your child needs immunizations, a physical, urgent care, or a routine wellness exam, they'll receive kind, compassionate care from our staff. Dr. Gregory W. Anderson, DO

Dr. Anderson and his family moved to Rapid City courtesy of the U.S. Air Force and decided to stay when he retired after 20 years of service. He is a former Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the Monument Health Rapid City Hospital and has special interests in wellness care and Star Wars. He’s married with three children and one grandchild so far. In his free time, he enjoys bible study, reading, shooting and playing all kinds of games.

Dr. Cara M. Hamilton is a board-certified pediatrician began her practice at our clinic in August 2010. Dr. Hamilton has special interests in adolescent medicine, well childcare and child maltreatment and works closely with the Child Advocacy Center. She is a native of Rapid City, SD and is happy to serve her hometown and surrounding area. She enjoys the Black Hills, SD area and hikes and camps here with her family often.

​Dr. Margaret F. Kuehler is a board-certified pediatrician who completed her residency at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, IA. She began her practice at Black Hills Pediatrics, LLP. in 2013. She graduated from the University of South Dakota – Sanford School of Medicine in 2010. Dr. Kuehler is the coordinator of the pediatric portion of medical school student education for the west river campus. She is originally from Hill City, SD and is happy to be back in Black Hills, SD with her family. Her favorite part of pediatrics is well childcare and has an interests in developmental pediatrics and adolescent medicine.

Dr. David W. Mueller is a board-certified pediatrician with special interests in respiratory illness, child abuse, and infectious diseases. He was born and raised in the Black Hills area and joined our group in June of 2007. Dr. Mueller is a member of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians. Dr. Mueller is currently the Medical Director of the Child Advocacy Center of The Black Hills. He is married and has three children. He enjoys playing and coaching soccer, hiking, and gaming.

Dr. Lori A. Strong is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing at the clinic since August 1990. She has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, past Chief of Staff, and past Chairman of the Board of Directors at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota. Her residency was done at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, MO.

Dr. John Paul grew up in Sturgis, SD then attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of South Dakota. He completed a pediatric residency program at the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He has interests in wellness care and watching his patients grow and succeed through childhood and adolescence. He is very excited to be back home in the Black Hills close to family and able to serve his hometown community. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, twin daughters, family and close friends exploring as many different opportunities that the Black Hills has to offer.

Nodia Berglund is a physician assistant and joined Black Hills Pediatrics in August 2016. She graduated from Sturgis Brown High School, pursued her undergraduate degree at Augustana in Sioux Falls, and then went on to PA school at USD in Vermillion. A career involving pediatrics has always been her dream. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three busy children.

Marcene Bloom grew up in western South Dakota and graduated from Sturgis High School. After undergraduate studies, Marcene began her career at Black Hills Pediatrics, LLP where she managed the lab. She completed her schooling to become a Physician Assistant graduating in 2001. Marcene returned to Black Hills Pediatrics, LLP after becoming a Physician Assistant and has been providing pediatric care for over 34 years. Marcene is married with two adult children and six grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and grandkids at their ranch in Scenic, SD.


Jenny McIntosh, CNP

Jenny McIntosh grew up in Wyoming. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South Dakota State University in 2006. She worked at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon, until 2010 when she returned to South Dakota. Since moving back, she has worked for Monument Health and the Fort Meade VA Medical Center in Fort Meade, SD. After graduating from Maryville University as a Certified Nurse practitioner in 2020, she began working in urology. In 2022, she joined Black Hills Pediatrics, LLP, providing care for children and young adults. Jenny is married with two busy daughters. Her free time is spent with her family, cooking, and being outdoors in the Black Hills, SD area.

​Suzanne was born and raised in Minnesota. After graduating high school, she enlisted in the Air Force as a Medic. Soon after, she earned her BSN from SDSU. She graduated with her MSN from Maryville University in 2016 and is now a Certified Nurse Practitioner. She is married and has two boys.

Brittany grew up in Rapid City, SD. She earned her BSN from SDSU and worked at Avera Mckennan in Sioux Falls, SD from 2010-2014. After graduating from USD with her MS-PAS in 2014, she started working in Neurosurgery. In 2017, she joined us here at Black Hills Pediatrics, LLP and has enjoyed working with children and young adults. Her passion includes spending time with her family and being outdoors in the Black Hills, SD area.
